The place where you cut your teeth. I like the Northern Corries of Cairngorm for their short approaches and engaging climbs. People complain that they’re too busy, too accessible or maybe just boring, but I like them for afterwork rock in the summer, and interesting tricky mixed climbing in the winter. Almost nowhere else in Scotland do you step straight out of your car and within half an hour you’re in a high-mountain environment with all the incredible light and weather to go with it. This work is from a series of pictures taken on a clear, crisp day, which is completely false advertising for the common conditions of these corries!
